PARKERSBURG, W. VA. - When the Schroeder Management Company decided it
was time to give an exterior facelift to the 127 apartment units in their La
Habra Woods, Calif. complex, they found one-stop installation assistance at
Republic Windows, Inc., a distributor of products from Simonton Windows®. Less
than a year later, all 13 buildings in the complex have new stucco exterior
facades and 767 low-maintenance vinyl windows and patio doors.

"During the past 40 years the wood exterior areas on the buildings rotted
and the old windows became inefficient," says John Gunnison with Republic
Windows, Inc. in Anaheim, Calif. "While we don't normally handle siding
replacement projects, we wanted to take care of the entire needs of this
project for Schroeder Management so we offered to replace the windows and patio
doors plus install the new stucco siding and trim pieces. The results are
remarkable --- it's a true transformation." |

For maximum ventilation and views, white vinyl Slider windows and Sliding Patio
Doors from Simonton Windows® were used extensively in the complex renovation.
"Many apartments at La Habra Woods are positioned as corner units offering
wall-to-wall windows and doors," says Gunnison. "Because of this
maximized exposure to the sun it's important that we installed Simonton
products with Low E double strength glass and Argon gas filling. These units
are double glazed and can actually help lower energy bills. They also help keep
harmful UV rays out of the apartments which can cause fading on furnishings,
carpets and window treatments." |

The windows and patio doors for the La Habra Woods complex were manufactured at
